The purpose of this article is to provide resources to help cancer patients cope with the effects of cancer treatment. It has been documented in medical journals that many benefits are derived from ensuring the right activity, a supportive environment and restoration to prior appearance. When one looks better and is more comfortable, this elevates the mood and increases the activity level thereby healing both mentally and physically.

This is an excellent place to purchase breast prosthetics and bras, post breast surgery camisoles, hats, turbans and scarves, mastectomy swim suits, lymphedema products and wigs and hairpieces. Appointments are generally required for custom fittings of prosthetics, bras or wigs. A financial counselor is available to help evaluate your needs and verify insurance coverage for services. “tlc” Tender Loving Care is a part of ACS Products, Inc., an affiliate of the American Cancer Society. This company provides a catalog where products can be viewed and purchased online at : www.tlcdirect.org. If preferred, free copies of “tlc” can be obtained by calling 1-800-850-9445. This is a fantastic catalog if you wish to select products that are hard to find or prefer the privacy of your own home. They have a wonderful assortment of wigs, hats and scarves, breast prosthetics and bras and camisoles.
Fine Fittings is a new store located at 18795 N. Reems R, Shop G-113 in Surprise (close to Del Webb). The store has a wide selection of products and even offers in-home services to those who can’t travel or wish privacy. These products are listed on their website at: www.finefittings.org.
